Junior YouTube Producer - Unscripted
Overview
As a Junior Unscripted Producer, you will play a vital role in the development, production, and edit of the Friday Beers YouTube and Friday Beers HQ TikTok channels. This role involves collaborating with senior staff and creators to conceptualize, produce, and edit engaging unscripted comedy content. You will work in a fast-paced environment, requiring creativity, attention to detail, and a passion for comedy and YouTube.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior producers and creative teams to brainstorm, develop, and pitch innovative unscripted content ideas tailored to YouTube's format and audience.
- Assist in shaping the creative direction of video series, short-form content, or viral challenges.
- Lead the planning, production and edit of the Unscripted YouTube alongside senior leadership and talent.
- Provide on-the-ground support during filming, handling logistics, managing the set, and ensuring that all crew members are on task.
- Maintain awareness of rollout calendar as it relates to topical moments in both pop culture and sports.
- Lead the planning, production, and editing of social-first, unscripted content, including original content, cut downs, and promotional materials.
- Edit raw footage into rough string outs to build story using editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro, ensuring content meets established quality standards and deadlines.
- This role will also assist with post-production by providing feedback on editing, pacing, and tone to align with the YouTube platform's best practices.
- Collaborate with editors to ensure content is optimized for engagement, including appropriate use of thumbnails, titles, and metadata.
- Conduct research on potential episode topics or formats, unscripted content for competitive analysis, and social media trends to enhance the quality and relevance of produced content.
- Organize and maintain digital assets, including video files, graphics, and other media elements, to facilitate efficient content production processes.
- Track video performance using YouTube analytics to assess what content resonates best with the audience.
- Suggest improvements for future episodes based on engagement metrics, and help manage community interaction via comments, social media, and other platforms.
Qualifications:
- A passion for YouTube and a baseline understanding of various shows, formats, thumbnail optimization, SEO, and related terminology.
- Previous experience in video production, editing, or related social roles preferred, with a portfolio demonstrating proficiency in video editing software and techniques.
- Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools, as well as knowledge of audio editing, color correction, and visual effects.
- Ability to think creatively, generate innovative ideas, and contribute to the development of engaging unscripted content.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, workflows, and industry trends.
- Proven ability to work well in a collaborative team environment, with a positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues.
- A strong portfolio showcasing previous work in video production and editing, with examples of unscripted-related content preferred.
- This is an in office position based in Santa Monica.
