Jobs at The Cutting Room Floor
Fashion's Only Fashion Show
About Us:
The Cutting Room Floor started as a passion project—a fashion podcast with a singular goal: to dive into the untold stories behind the brands, designers, and innovators shaping the fashion world. What began as a small, niche show has quickly grown into a trusted voice in the industry, attracting a loyal audience of fashion enthusiasts, creatives, and industry insiders. As we look to expand, we’re on a mission to evolve The Cutting Room Floor into a full-fledged media company. Our flagship podcast will remain at the heart of our brand, but we’re also focused on building a broader portfolio of high-quality video and branded content. To do that, we need someone who can help us take the show—and everything we produce—to new heights.
We’ve been getting by with a lean team, but now we need someone who can elevate the production value, to bring a higher level of professionalism and visual consistency to our work. We’re looking for a creative powerhouse who is not just an editor, but a visual storyteller who will shape and enhance the show’s aesthetic and bring fresh ideas to our growing audience. If you’re someone who can transform a good production into a great one, and you’re passionate about working in an exciting, fast-paced environment where your contributions will directly impact the future of the brand, we want to hear from you.
Job Overview:
We’re looking for a Senior Video Editor & Multi-Camera Operator who’s ready to take the reins of our production and help transform The Cutting Room Floor Podcast into a polished show that stands out. In this role, you’ll wear multiple hats—editing, shooting, and leading the video production process with a focus on creating high-quality, polished content.
You’ll primarily be responsible for editing our flagship video podcast and transforming raw footage into dynamic, engaging episodes. A key part of this role will involve editing the podcast interviews in a way that combines video journalism and explainer-style content—presenting insightful, well-researched information in a way that’s both accessible and visually compelling. Beyond editing, you’ll also handle the full production process—shooting the show with multiple cameras, managing lighting, and ensuring that everything runs smoothly on set. Your ability to juggle both creative and technical responsibilities will be key.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the Production: Take ownership of the video production process, from setting up, operating, and monitoring a multi-cam setup to ensuring consistent framing and lighting throughout each episode. As we're building a new set, you’ll play a key role in advising on and selecting the necessary equipment—cameras, lighting, sound gear, etc— to ensure we have the right tools to create top-quality content.
Edit to Tell a Story:Craft compelling, polished episodes by editing raw footage into a cohesive narrative. Work closely with our Editorial Assistant to integrate research, sourced images and key moments from sourced media to tell a rich, engaging story.
Create Dynamic Social Content: Use context clues and your editorial instincts to cut lean, impactful short-form clips that capture the essence of each episode. These clips will serve as powerful marketing assets designed to intrigue and inspire audience conversation.
Own Post-Production: Manage the entire post-production pipeline, including color correction, sound design, audio mixing, and visual effects (VFX). Every detail of the final product will meet our high-quality standards, making sure it’s polished and ready for distribution across all platforms.
Lead the Team: Guide and collaborate with junior team members—our Editorial Assistant and Motion Animator, providing creative direction, feedback, and leadership to ensure that content is completed on time and at the highest level of quality.
Organize and Manage Assets: Stay on top of all project files, ensuring that everything is properly archived, named, and easily accessible for future use. This meticulous file management will allow for smooth workflows and quick turnarounds, ensuring that content creation never gets bogged down by disorganization.
Optimize Content for All Platforms: Tailor each video for various platforms, adjusting aspect ratios, file sizes, and formats without sacrificing the final product's quality. You'll ensure that content looks great and performs well no matter where it’s viewed—whether it's on YouTube, Instagram, or beyond.
Qualifications:
• 4+ years of professional video editing experience, with a portfolio that demonstratesstrong storytelling skills, technical proficiency, and versatility.
• Technical Proficiency of Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, and other relevant video editing software. Familiarity with 3D motion graphics is a plus.
• Strong understanding of post-production workflows, from color correction and sound design to visual effects (VFX) and audio mixing.
• Experience operating multi-camera setups and managing on-set production, including lighting and sound, to ensure a smooth and professional shoot.
• Experience with social media content: You understand how to create short-form, shareable content that resonates with different audiences on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.
• Proven experience with video journalism and explainer-style content is a plus.

This will allow us to assess your editing style, creative approach, and technical skills to ensure alignment with our production values and brand vision.
