Magnet Originals is a premium media startup founded by Megan Cunningham, a 25-year veteran of documentary production and brand storytelling who built and led Magnet Media before launching this sister company, Magnet Originals.
We operate a dual business model: producing premium original content in partnership with major media companies, and representing established podcast and video creators to build and monetize their audiences more effectively. We are not a traditional studio, and we are not a talent agency. We sit at the intersection of both, which gives us a structural advantage in the current media landscape, where the most valuable IP is increasingly creator-driven and the most successful creators are increasingly operating like studios.
Our Business Model
Original Series Development + Production: We develop and produce premium original content with major media and distribution partners. Current active productions include Living for the City, a documentary series hosted by acclaimed author Hanif Abdurraqib, distributed in partnership with Live Nation's, with a May 2026 launch, and SUPERFANS, starring Lyndsey Havens (Exec Editor, Billboard), scheduled for release in June 2026, also in partnership with Live Nation. We have original IP in development with TOGETHXR (a leading women's sports media company) and additional projects in development with the BBC.
Creator Representation: We represent established podcast and YouTube creators in music and sports, providing monetization strategy, brand partnership facilitation, audience development, and production support. Our goal is to be the operating partner that helps mid-tier creators with genuine audiences reach their next level of commercial and creative scale, in a way that traditional agencies and management companies are not structured to do.
How We Operate: Magnet Originals runs lean by design. We use AI-powered workflows across every function, from show development and talent discovery to audience growth and financial operations, which allows a small, highly skilled team to produce work at a level that would otherwise require a team three times our size. We are not interested in building a large company for its own sake; we are interested in building an exceptional one, and we believe that AI-enhanced execution is the competitive advantage that makes that possible at our stage.
Our five core AI workflows (developed through our AI Advisory Supermeets with senior technology and media advisors), cover white space and story discovery, talent identification, creative development support, standardized prompt libraries for consistent team output, and algorithmic audience development across distribution platforms.
